Disclaimer: I have no personal clash with NameCheap. All I’m sharing here is my personal experience.

Today, I want to share my bitter experience of using NameCheap and how I was able to solve the problem.

Why NameCheap Sucks

Yes, you heard me right! But why? Here are the two main reasons:

  1. They were unable to solve my problems or provide specific solutions.
  2. The most frustrating part was their inability to identify the problem clearly.

My Hosting Journey with NameCheap

I was a NameCheap customer using their Stellar Plus shared hosting plan. My site and several client sites were hosted there.

One day, one of my clients informed me that they were seeing inappropriate nudity-type content on their site.

When I checked, I discovered that all my sites—including my clients’—had been compromised.

In the online world, such incidents can happen anytime, so I looked for solutions on the internet.

The issue itself wasn’t a big deal for me. However, the reason I was upset was their customer service.

  • Their support team responded quickly, but in my opinion, they were not efficient.
  • Despite multiple virus scans—both by me and their built-in scanner—no viruses were found, only “Suspicious Matches.”
  • They provided articles on how to prevent hacking, but these were not immediately helpful.

My Efforts to Solve the Issue

Since I know a bit of coding, I tried to manually delete the malicious files, but they kept reappearing every time I refreshed the file.

Frustrated, I decided to try their autobackup service, which they perform twice a week.

After several attempts, I finally found a backup version with no suspicious matches.

However, some recent changes made to the sites were lost. I was okay with this as the problem seemed to be resolved.

But wait—the problem wasn’t solved yet! The very next day, the issue reappeared.

This time, I was truly frustrated. My clients kept asking when their sites would be back to normal, and my reputation was at stake.

Despite several attempts, their support team couldn’t provide a solution. I was scared and disappointed because of the potential loss of important data.

How I Solved the Problem

I decided to switch hosting services. I moved to Hostinger, and that’s when the magic happened.

  • After uploading all the necessary files to Hostinger, their malware scanner immediately detected and cleaned the malicious files automatically.
  • Finally, the problem was resolved without any extra effort on my part.

Why I Recommend Hostinger

For anyone with less technical knowledge, I highly recommend Hostinger. Here are a few reasons why:

  1. Built-In Malware Scanner and Cleaner: Every plan includes this feature. If the malware scanner can’t fully resolve the issue, their support team will fix it for a small fee—a service that NameCheap didn’t offer me.
  2. User-Friendly H-Panel: Unlike the traditional and technical C-Panel, Hostinger offers an intuitive and easy-to-use H-Panel.
  3. AI Website Creation and Writing Tools: Although many hosting services now offer these features, Hostinger’s tools are user-friendly and perform exceptionally well. You can easily skip using other AI writing services like ChatGPT.
  4. Amazon Affiliate Plugin Perks: If you’re into Amazon affiliate marketing, Hostinger’s business hosting plans include free plugins like AAWP or Lasso, which usually cost $5-$15 per month—a huge price saver.

Pro Tip: If you wish to purchase Hostinger, I recommend buying a 48-month plan. It will save you significantly in the long run, and when it’s time to renew your plan, you’ll get almost 30% off the usual renewal price. I made the mistake of not opting for this, and I don’t want you to do the same.

A website is like a baby for bloggers and marketers like us. If you also manage client websites, your reputation is always on the line. Do your research and choose a hosting service that saves both your money and your reputation.
